Stripe fee calculator
Prefilled with the widely quoted US standard card rate of 2.9% + $0.30. International cards, currency conversion, other payment methods and negotiated pricing differ, so edit the fields to match your own account.
A $100 charge at 2.9% + $0.30 costs $3.20 and pays you $96.80. The effective rate is 3.2%.
The reverse calculation is what most people come for: to receive exactly $100, charge $103.30. That's (100 + 0.30) ÷ (1 − 0.029), not simply adding 2.9%, because the fee is also taken on the extra you add.
Stripe's pricing varies by country and card type. Stripe's UK rates, for instance, are lower for domestic cards and higher for international ones, so always set the fields to your own schedule.
Payment fees are one of the more stable per-order costs, unlike shipping and advertising, which swing more. Include them alongside everything else in the Shopify profit margin calculator, and use the break-even ROAS calculator to see how much return ads must clear on top.
