Social listening features that turn mentions into next steps
A list of 400 posts that contain your name isn't much use on its own. Mentionfront drops the posts that aren't about you, works out what each remaining post wants, ranks them, and sends the ones that matter to the right place. Here's what happens to a mention at each step, and the feature behind it.
How a mention moves through Mentionfront, in five steps
Step 1
Collect
Your brand, product and competitor names are searched on TikTok, Instagram, X, Reddit and YouTube, plus the comments on matching posts (X excepted). Facebook is covered through the Pages and Groups you choose.
Terms match as whole words and your exclude terms drop collisions, so "Nova" the brand doesn't pull in Nova Scotia. Near matches, like a plural, are kept but marked possibly relevant and ranked lower.
Built into every tracker
Step 3
Label
Every relevant mention gets a sentiment, one of eight shopping intents and one of ten themes. When a positive post contains a line worth reusing, that line is saved too.
A priority score from 0 to 100 combines relevance, intent and match confidence. Each mention lists the reasons behind its score, so the ranking is easy to check.
Opportunities and Needs attention tabs sort the work. Anything above your threshold goes to Slack, Discord or email. Flag, share, tag and resolve from one feed.
Daily volume, plus breakdowns by intent, theme and platform. There's also an activity heatmap, top hashtags, share of voice and the quote wall, each filterable by tracker and date range.
Saved views & tags
Save a filter combination ("Negative · Complaint · TikTok") as a tab. Add your own tags, like "refund issued", so you can find a mention again later.
Team workspace
Invite teammates to share one feed: 5 on Growth and 10 on Scale. Share with team, Follow-up and Resolved show what still needs handling.
MCP server
Connect Claude, Gemini CLI, Cursor or any MCP client that supports a bearer-token connection. Ask for today's opportunities or a weekly summary, and flag or tag mentions without opening the dashboard.
Each platform allows different kinds of search, so coverage isn't identical everywhere. The ecommerce guide explains exactly what's collected on each one.
No listening feature is locked. Classification, scoring, alerts, analytics, catalog import and the MCP server are on every plan, including the free trial. Plans differ in how many keywords you can track, how many mentions you can collect and whether you can invite teammates (Growth and Scale). See pricing.
Do I have to set up the labels or scoring?
No. Sentiment, intent, theme and priority are added to every relevant mention automatically. The only settings worth adjusting are your exclude terms and your alert threshold.
What doesn't Mentionfront do?
It doesn't publish or schedule posts, and it doesn't reply for you. Replies come from your own accounts. It doesn't monitor review sites like Trustpilot or Google Reviews, it doesn't read speech or text inside videos and images, and catalog import is a CSV upload rather than a live store connection. Platforms are checked on a schedule, so it isn't a second-by-second feed.
Is it only for ecommerce?
It's built for ecommerce: the intents, themes and product tracking are designed around shopping conversations. Other consumer brands can use it too, but a brand that doesn't sell products online will get less out of it. See social listening for ecommerce.
Where should I start?
Add your brand name as your first keyword and let it collect for a few days. Then look at the Opportunities and Needs attention tabs. Most teams add competitors and alerts next.
