Privacy Policy

Last updated September 18, 2026.

This policy explains what information Mentionfront ("Mentionfront", "we", "us") collects when you use mentionfront.com and the Mentionfront app, why we collect it, and the choices you have. By creating an account or otherwise using the service, you agree to the collection and use described here.

Information we collect

Account information. When you sign up, we collect your email address and a securely hashed password. If you sign up or log in with Google instead, we receive your name, email address and Google account ID from Google; we store your email address and a Google account identifier so we can recognize you on future sign-ins, but not your password.

Workspace and team information. The workspace name you choose, and the email addresses of any teammates you invite. If you accept an invitation to someone else's workspace, the same applies to you.

Billing information. Subscriptions are processed by Stripe. We store your plan, billing interval and Stripe's own customer and subscription identifiers — we never see or store your card number, and Stripe's own privacy policy governs the payment details you give it directly.

Mention data. The core of the service: publicly available posts, comments and related public engagement counts (likes, replies, reposts) that match the brand, product and competitor keywords you track. This is collected from TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, X, Reddit and YouTube through each platform's official API, or through licensed data partners where a platform doesn't offer one directly. We don't access private messages, protected accounts, or anything not already public on the platform it came from.

Content you add. Keywords and exclude terms, saved views, tags, alert settings, and any notes or catalog data (like a product CSV) you upload.

Usage and device data. Standard server logs (IP address, browser type, pages visited, timestamps), and analytics collected through the cookies described below.

How we use it

  • To operate the service — collecting mentions on your schedule, running search, and showing your dashboard.
  • To classify each mention's sentiment, intent and priority, which is done by sending the mention's public text to Anthropic's Claude API for analysis.
  • To bill your subscription and send billing-related notices, through Stripe.
  • To send transactional email (confirmations, password resets, team invitations) and, if you've turned them on, mention alert emails, Slack messages or Discord messages.
  • To respond when you contact support, and to keep the service secure and working as intended.
  • To understand how the marketing site and app are used, so we can improve them.

Cookies and analytics

We use a session cookie to keep you signed in, and — if you check "remember me" — a longer-lived cookie so you don't have to log in again. We also use Datafa.st and Microsoft Clarity to understand how visitors use the marketing site (page views, clicks and scroll behaviour) — neither is used to serve you ads. You can block cookies in your browser; the marketing site will still work, but signing in requires the session cookie.

We also use the Meta Pixel on the marketing site to measure the performance of our ads and build remarketing audiences. It shares page-view and conversion events with Meta, and, for visitors who came from a Meta ad, a hashed (not plain-text) version of your email address so Meta can match ad performance back to the right audience. We don't send Meta your name, phone number or any other account data.

Who we share it with

We don't sell your data. We share it only with the service providers that make Mentionfront work, each bound to use it only to provide their service to us:

  • Stripe — payment processing and billing.
  • Anthropic — classifying mention sentiment, intent and priority.
  • Google — if you choose to sign in with Google.
  • Meta — ad performance measurement and remarketing on the marketing site, as described above.
  • TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, X, Reddit and YouTube, and licensed data partners for those platforms — the source of the public mention content itself.
  • Our email delivery and cloud hosting providers, who process data on our behalf to run the service.

We may also disclose information if required by law, or to protect the rights, property or safety of Mentionfront, our users, or others.

Data retention and deletion

We keep your data for as long as your account is active. You can delete your account at any time from Settings (owners of a workspace with an active subscription or other members need to resolve that first — the account page explains what's blocking it if so); deleting your account also deletes any workspace you own, and everything in it, permanently. You can also email hello@mentionfront.com to request deletion.

Security

Passwords are hashed, not stored in plain text. Data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS) and sensitive fields such as webhook URLs and API keys are encrypted at rest. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable, industry-standard measures to protect your information.

Your rights and choices

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export or delete your personal data, or to object to or restrict certain processing. You can do most of this yourself from Settings, or by emailing hello@mentionfront.com. You can turn off email, Slack or Discord alerts at any time from Settings.

Children's privacy

Mentionfront is a business tool and isn't directed at, or knowingly used to collect information from, children under 16.

International transfers

Mentionfront and the providers listed above may process data in countries other than your own. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards for those transfers.

Changes to this policy

If we make material changes to this policy, we'll update the date at the top of this page and, for significant changes, notify account holders by email.
