Awario is one of the most affordable monitoring tools around, with generous mention limits and a lead-finding feature. For an online store, two gaps tend to show up: TikTok isn't among its listed sources, and it doesn't know one product from another. Mentionfront covers TikTok, tracks your catalog product by product, and sorts every mention by what a store should do next.

Budget and volume come first, your conversation happens on the open web as well as social, you want Boolean queries and white-label PDF reports, or you want Awario Leads for prospecting.
You run an ecommerce brand, TikTok matters to you, you want each product tracked separately, and you'd rather work from a ranked queue of buyers and complaints than a feed of everything.
Awario and Mentionfront start at the same price: $29/month billed annually. Awario gives you 30,000 mentions; Mentionfront gives you 1,000. The difference is focus, not volume.
Awario does general brand monitoring well at a low price. These are the specific points where ecommerce teams tend to look elsewhere.
Awario's site lists X, Facebook, Instagram, Reddit, YouTube, Vimeo, news, blogs, forums and the web. TikTok isn't on that list. For brands whose products get discovered in TikTok videos and comment sections, that's the biggest missing piece.
Awario organizes monitoring into topics, each holding as many keywords as you like. That's flexible, but results and reports roll up by topic, so seeing one product on its own usually means giving it its own topic. Starter includes 3 topics and Pro 15.
Awario Leads looks for recommendation requests, but mentions in your regular topics are labeled positive, negative or neutral. Nothing marks a sizing complaint, a shipping delay or a question about one of your products, so deciding which ones need a reply is still manual.
Awario limits how many mentions one topic can hold: 5,000 on Starter, 15,000 on Pro and 50,000 on Enterprise. A busy brand topic with broad keywords can reach that faster than its monthly mention allowance suggests.
We sell a competing tool, so here are Awario users in their own words instead of ours — verbatim, with a link to each full review. Two of the three are praise, because that's what the reviews mostly are.
One of Awario's main strengths is its excellent value for money, as it is a very affordable social listening platform compared to many other tools on the market that offer similar or even more limited features.
Gone are the days when I had to manually search hashtags keywords every day and store links and text in a messy spreadsheet… The only downside is that not all social media platforms are supported yet, but I hope the team expands coverage soon.
This listening tool isn't able to monitor mentions on Facebook or Instagram. The website is very misleading as it states that it can…
The third quote is from 2020, and Awario replied to it at the time explaining that its Meta access was under review; Facebook and Instagram are listed as sources again today. It's here because platform coverage is the thing to test before you buy a listening tool — including ours. Run the same brand and product names through both and compare what each one finds.
Both promise posts from people who might buy from you. They find different people, and it's worth knowing which you need.
| Awario Leads | Mentionfront Opportunities | |
|---|---|---|
| How it finds posts | You describe your product and competitors, and Awario generates the short phrases buyers tend to use when asking for recommendations | Built from mentions of your tracked brand, products, competitors and any category phrases you add as keywords |
| Who it finds | People asking for a product like yours, often without naming any brand | People naming you or a competitor who are ready to buy, asking for a recommendation, or switching brands |
| Platforms | Awario's sources (no TikTok listed) | TikTok, Instagram, Reddit, YouTube, X and Facebook, including comments on matching posts |
| Ranking | A feed of leads | A 0–100 priority score with the reasons listed on each mention |
| Best for | Social selling and prospecting among people who haven't picked a brand | Answering shoppers who are close to a purchase decision about your products |
Honest take: if you mostly want to find strangers asking "what's a good tool for X?", Awario Leads is built for exactly that. Mentionfront can catch those threads through a category keyword (like "carry-on backpack"), but its strength is conversations that already name a brand. See sales opportunity detection.

Measured by mentions per dollar, Awario wins easily, and Mentionfront won't pretend otherwise. If your goal is to collect as much data as possible for as little as possible, Awario is the better deal.
The question for a store is how many of those mentions turn into something you act on. Mentionfront's price covers the work after collection:
| A typical store | Awario | Mentionfront |
|---|---|---|
| Brand, products and competitors in one bucket | Starter · $29 | Starter · $29 |
| Brand, 5 products and 3 competitors each reported separately | Pro · $899 of 15 topics | Starter · $299 of 10 keywords |
| Same, with 4 teammates | Pro · $89 | Growth · $79 |
Per month, billed annually. Mentionfront's mention allowance is lower on every plan, so check your expected volume first.
Some brands don't need to choose. Awario's Starter plan is inexpensive enough to keep for what it does that Mentionfront doesn't: news coverage, blogs, forums and the wider web, plus client-ready PDF reports.
Mentionfront then handles the social side a store works from every day: TikTok, comment sections, product-level questions and the Opportunities and Needs attention queues.
If you run both, split the keywords so you're not paying twice: brand and press terms in Awario, products and competitors in Mentionfront.
Moving over completely?
Mention history can't be imported, so export Awario's CSV first if you want it. Split each Awario topic into separate Mentionfront keywords (one for the brand, one per product, one per competitor), move negative keywords to exclude terms, and rewrite Boolean queries as specific phrases. New keywords look back 7 days, or 3 on Instagram.
