On a $35 item with $5 shipping, that's $40 × 9.5% = $3.80, plus $0.45 in fixed fees: $4.25 in total, leaving you $35.75 before your own costs.
Etsy charges on shipping you collect as well as the item price, and the fees stack: a percentage for the sale, a percentage for processing, and a small fixed amount per listing and per payment.
Offsite ads, advertising and currency conversion fees can add more, and they aren't in this calculator. Add them to the percentage field if they apply to you.
